1) What is RenWeb?

RenWeb is an important online communication tool that will keep you apprised of all school-wide and classroom activities, homework, etc. You will learn more about RenWeb at the New Parent Orientation and will be able to set up your family account by following an instruction guide provided to you the first week of August.

2) What is the best way to contact my child’s teacher?

Each teacher has an email account (first initial lastname@raynecatholic.org) and a voice mail extension (334-5657 ext.# – listed in handbook) or the receptionist can directly connect you to the teacher’s voice mail.

3) What is Safe Environment Training and why do I need it?

ALL parents who wish to volunteer must be safe environment certified. Safe Environment Training is a program required, and coordinated, by the Diocese of Lafayette. This program is designed with our children’s safety in mind which is of utmost importance to us.

4) What time does school begin and end?

The first bell rings in the morning at 7:58 am and the tardy bell rings at 8:00am. The dismissal bell rings at 3:15 in the afternoon.

5) When is the earliest I can drop-off my child(ren)?

Teachers are on duty at 7:20am.  Students may be dropped-off prior to 7:20am (beginning at 7:00am) at the gym entrance.  Students must report directly to the cafeteria for supervision.

6) What are Spirit Days?

Usually every Friday the school sponsors “Spirit Day.” On Spirit Day, the students are allowed to wear the current year Spirit Shirt Spirit shirts are available for purchase at school.

7) May I have lunch with my child?

Parents are always welcome to have lunch with their child. If do plan to eat lunch, please call the office or cafeteria to add your name to the lunch count.

8) May my child bring his/her lunch to school?

Diocesan policy mandates that all students eat in the cafeteria. If your child has a medical condition which would exclude him/her eating in the school lunch,  you must complete a Food and Nutrition Services form, have your physician sign it and submit it to the Cafeteria Manager. Diocesan approval must be given before permission is granted.

9) May I attend my child’s class functions and events?

Parental participation in classroom events are limited to assigned Safe Environment certified persons.

10) How do I know who the Room Mother is for my child’s class?

During the first month of school, the Home and School Association emails a complete list of Head Room Mothers and Assistant Room Mothers.

11) Is the beginning of the year the only time I may complete a volunteer form?

Absolutely not! Please contact the office at any time and we will be happy to direct you in the proper direction.

12) If I have other questions during the year, what do I do?

Most importantly, never hesitate to ask! The school has many resources available that provide information. RenWeb is most likely to be your first stop in answering questions about scheduled school events since it contains the official school calendar. RenWeb also will be your most useful resource for classroom and student information.
